Terms and Conditions

East Anglia Moves

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of removal, clearance, and storage services ("Services") by East Anglia Moves ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") to the customer ("you", "your", "client"). By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services Provided

We offer:

  • Domestic and commercial removals across East Anglia and surrounding areas

  • Property clearances

  • Long-term and short-term storage

  • Packing and supply of packing materials (on request)

All services are subject to availability and booking confirmation.

2. Quotations and Charges

  • Prices are based on the size, nature, and complexity of the job.

  • We may charge on a day rate basis or fixed fee, depending on the scope of work.

  • All quotes are valid for 14 days and based on the information you provide at the time of enquiry. Changes may result in revised charges.

  • Packing materials can be supplied at an additional cost, unless otherwise agreed.

3. Deposits and Payment

  • A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your service.

  • The remaining balance must be paid in full before unloading at the new property or storage location.

  • We accept payment by [specify methods: e.g., bank transfer, card, cash].

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • A minimum of 7 days’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.

  • If you cancel within 7 days of the scheduled service, the deposit is non-refundable.

  • Rescheduling within 7 days is subject to availability and may incur additional fees.

5. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring safe and legal access to both pickup and delivery addresses.

  • Informing us of any restricted access, stairs, parking limitations, or special handling requirements in advance.

  • Packing items securely unless packing service is arranged with us.

  • Notifying us of any heavy, fragile, or high-value items.

  • Ensuring no prohibited, hazardous, illegal, or perishable goods are included.

6. Insurance and Liability

  • We carry Goods in Transit Insurance to cover loss or damage during transport, subject to policy limits and exclusions.

  • We are not liable for:

    • Damage to items not packed by us

    • Pre-existing damage

    • Delays due to weather, traffic, or circumstances beyond our control

  • Claims for damage must be submitted in writing within 48 hours of service completion.

7. Storage Terms

  • Storage is available for as long as needed.

  • Monthly charges apply and are invoiced in advance.

  • If payment cannot be made on time, clients must provide at least 3 days’ notice.

    • In such cases, we may allow a 10-day grace period for late payment.

  • Continued late or non-payment beyond this period may result in restricted access or disposal of goods, after written notice.

8. Delays and Access Issues

  • If access is delayed or obstructed due to client-related issues (e.g., waiting for keys, property not ready), additional charges may apply.

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by third parties (e.g., solicitors, estate agents).

9. Termination of Service

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service if:

  • The client fails to pay as agreed

  • The service request involves unsafe or illegal activities

  • The client breaches these terms

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
